...I'd be tempted to stay a very long while... winter in Venice, carnival season, looks pretty darn wonderful...

It’s not 100% wonderful, but the problems here are the same everywhere in Venice, I think: the WiFi is flaky(they’re laying fiber for better access but only part of the city has it), the city requires you to keep the temperature in a narrow range that is just a little too cold, and the power supply is not great so you pretty much are limited to operating one appliance at a time. And don’t get me started on European (and Japanese) washers and dryers and the limitations thereof. And the food costs more because it’s all shipped in via boat, and the trash/recycling separation is as strenuous as Japan, going by our host’s instructions.

It’s lovely to visit for a while, but I wouldn’t want to live here. Especially since we learned that a lot of the older buildings still vent their sewage directly into the canals, since retrofitting plumbing into historic buildings is costly and difficult. You really, really do not want to fall into a canal.

I have yet to do a bubble in a place that’s busy, but I fear it would look really weird, with lots of parts of people. I do like being able to get the 3D effect.
