BPAL review: Anubis
Starting to cycle through these fairly quickly, but I figure if I don't like something for the first fifteen minutes or so, I'm not going to put it on, no matter how good it smells in an hour.
Anubis
BPAL description: From the Excolo collection. He Who Counts the Hearts, Jackal Ruler of the Bows, He Who Is In the Place of Embalming. Jackal-headed guardian, protector and psychopomp of Egypt’s dead, he guides souls to the underworld and holds steady the scales upon which the deceased’s heart is weighed against Ma’at’s Feather of Truth. He is the creator and master of funereal rites, He Who Opens the Mouth of the Dead, and is the sentinel that watches over the sanctity of tombs and the virtue and privacy of his charges. His scent is a blend of holy myrrh, storax, balsam, and embalming herbs. (Gender neutral)
In vial: A sort of berry, with a hint of bitterness.
Wet: A sort of … evergreen? The sweetness is fading a bit, and the bitterness is blending, too.
Dry: I'm getting a bit of a putty scent now. After a bit, the myrrh starts coming out, and there's also a bit of a powdery scent.
Notes: I'm running out of ways to say "The cat doesn't give a damn." So much for exciting responses from the cat. The myrrh is nice on me, but the rest is … eh. If the top notes were replaced by something else, I'd probably like it better.
