Ganked from [livejournal.com profile] scribblemoose - a map where you can leave a guestbook message as to where you are, and you can zoom in or out to whatever level you're comfy with.

Even though I can't really smell anything, it annoys me that when I bestirred myself to go check the mail, none of my BPAL swaps had come in yet. And I even renewed my lease while I was there (the mail carrier was filling the boxes, so I went into the office to wait in the air conditioning because I knew that if I went back to the apartment, I'd not make it out again, and remembered that I needed to renew my lease while I was there), and after all the effort of pretending I wasn't sick while doing the lease thing ... no fun mail. Sigh.

Scary....very scary....course I did it, but still...scary...

Oh, on a totally unrelated note....are you going to Oni-Con in October? (was just looking at the website...may be thinking about trying to go.....)

I'll be in California then. :D I'm going to Internet Librarian, a professiona conference in Monterey, from October 24-26. Flying in the 23rd, then going to the conference, then driving up to SF and going to Yaoi-Con that weekend.

I'll probably be going to ShiokazeCon (http://www.shiokazecon.com/) in Houston in April, though - they had 3300 people last year. (They said their website is hosted by servers in NOLA, so it'll be back up once they find alternate hosting).

lol, figures, doesn't it? Hey, maybe I'll shoot for that one. There just aren't many around here that are in a reasonable driving distance (not EVER driving 16 hours each way again. EVER.) I'm amazed at the number that are in Texas. :D

Texans are desperate for entertainment, huh? :) A-Kon, AnimeFest, UshiCon, ShiokazeCon, and Oni-Con, and there may be one or two more. And that's jsut anime - ArmadilloCon, FenCon, AggieCon, ConDFW, the Plano Toy Show, Wizard World Arlington, and a few other random comic and toy shows are here and there.

This is really only in the last few years - ShiokazeCon, UshiCon, FenCon, Oni-Con and ConDFW are all somewhere in the area of 5 or fewer years old, I think, and I'm not sure about Wizard World Arlington or the toy and comic shows.

I started to put a little green alien at my apartment, but then figured I should put myself on the map at work, considering that's where I spend 90% of my time anymore...

And I have got to get at least one icon to use next to my entries. I'm tired of being faceless!
