BPAL review: Medea

Medea

BPAL description: From the Diabolus collection. Granddaughter of Helios, Hecate's chosen: Medea was one of the greatest sorceresses of the ancient world. She is the embodiment of ruthless power, indomitable will and furious vengeance. Night-blooming cereus, black orchid, black currant and myrtle leaf enshrouded in the incense of Hecate's cypress and myrrh, and the dark rage of magickal labdanum and intoxicating poppy. (Gender neutral)

In vial: Dark, with a hint of spice and woods.

Wet: A touch of floral, a touch of wood, the spice fading.

Dry: Fairly complex. Later, a hint of soap. Then a vague fruity scent crops up, almost a boozy pear. Interesting.

Notes: Cat is napping on the windowsill behind the blinds where I can't easily get to her. Sort of a complex herby, faintly floral scent, but it's making my nose stop up, and is smelling faintly of soap. I'll have to test again on another day when I'm not all allergy-laden to see if this is something that I want to keep - I'm not sure how much of my nose-stuffedness is due to the all-day allergy attack I've been having and how much is due to Medea.

We once had a cat named Medea. She and Cordelia-the-rat are the reason for our rule against naming pets after tragic heroines.

Heh. We named our pets after States of the Union when I was growing up, startign with getting two kittens. I named one Dakota, after a dog I once knew, and Vermont was the only other state I could think of at the time. They shortly became Deacon and Varmint, which sounds like some sort of buddy movie. Then we got a dog, named Carolina, or Carrie for short, and Mom's current cat is Collie, for Colorado. My cat is not a state name because I got tired of that, but there really isn't a name other than "Kitty" that she responds to, and she'll actually look at you and sometimes come over when you call "Kitty" so ti's as good as a name.
