...Wind Chill Advisory has expired...This is MARCH 3RD in TEXAS. It was 18°F on my drive in, with a wind chill of MINUS TEN.
Wind chill values have climbed up above zero...therefore the
advisory will be allowed to expire.
And I have no idea why others aren't wearing winter coats out there: is it that it's spring and therefore we must wear our spring clothing? There are too many students wandering around in hoodies and nothing heavier outside. This is a rather affluent school; I doubt the reason for the hoodies is that that many students can't afford winter coats. And given the sleet we had yesterday, there's no excuse for not knowing that it's cold when flying out the door on the way to class.

And then I moved to South Dakota, and learned that most of the time I could just wear long underwear, a T-shirt, a sweatshirt on top of that and a gray pullover on top of that, and a hat. I didn't add my coat until the days the temp got below -10 or the wind got high. (I wasn't walking across a campus, just staying outside long enough to shovel snoow off my car and off the driveway, then running from the car to the grocery store or work.)

As the day wore on, I did see more students with coats, but in the morning, I was shocked!
