Found on Reddit

Found this pic and text on Reddit. I bet the book on the far left is Sandman Slim, which I just recently finished.

Ooooh, sounds right to me.
I bet center front, (Fantasy, Mississippi, Riverboat, Pale Gentleman) is Martin's /Fevre Dream/...that's a good 'un.

I agree!

I love this. I think you're right about Sandman Slim, and the magic circus book is probably Genevieve Valentine's Mechanique. The arctic one might be Arctic Rising, but I think there are a couple of other ones that would fit that description.

Oh, wow. Brilliant!

I'd forgotten about Mechanique (and I read her LJ, so I have no excuse)! I thought of of The Night Circus, but I haven't read it, so I don't know if it fits the "queer" descriptor or not.

On DW, they think that the "Fantasy. Riverboat. Mississippi. Pale Gentleman" is George R. R. Martin's Fevre Dream, which sounds plausible to me even though I haven't read it.

"Science Fiction. Classic War Scifi-novel" could be a few things--Ender's Game, Starship Troopers, The Forever War, etc.

I feel I ought to know the one in back which has "Fantasy. Poker Tournament" visible, but I can't place it.

I want to create a game now where you describe books using 4 descriptors and see if others can guess them.

Great idea. Maybe the ConDFW Book Swap could do that with a few premium items. The Mississippi fantasy novel is likely Fevre Dream by George R. R. Martin.

That's a great idea!

I've seen the concept before and I think I love it more every time.
