Thank you! And what feels even more futuristic: I don't use the key to turn it on! As long as the fob is in the car--well, certainly the front seat; I don't know if the backs eat is close enough--I just push a button and the car starts! FREAKY
Edit: Obviously I TOTALLY FORGOT what I wrote in my original post when answering this. Just count that as a measure of my FREAKED-OUT-NESS
Isn't it cool how they do that? You don't even have to pull the fob out to get in for some of them - you just walk up and it unlocks itself when you pull the handle.
It's attached to the keychain that contains my house and office keys and the swipe card I need to get into the building at work--if I lose it, I'm in a whole lot worse trouble than just the car! (Toby also has another fob tucked away in his office.)
Although I can now check if the keychain is lost in the house or just lost in the bottom of my bag by holding my bag next to the car and seeing if the mirrors open up automatically.
Also, if the battery dies, I can press a button on the fob that allows me to pull it apart and reveal a key, so I can unlock the car and trunk manually LIKE A BARBARIAN.
