BPAL review: Grandmother of Ghosts
Grandmother of Ghosts
BPAL description: From the Excolo collection. Mania, Roman Goddess of the Dead, Matron of Madness, Governess of the Ancestral Spirits, Bestower of Divine Frenzy. Her scent swirls with a high-pitched tumult of laurel, stargazer lily, splintered woods, peony, mandarin and white musk, and is spiked with pale pepper.
In vial: A sharp, tart, but mossy/herby/dark smell.
Wet: Dark, kind of dusty. I can vague, vague hints of the floral, but the overall smell is vaguely stale - I think that's the wood elements, smelling like older wood and not freshly-sawn wood. As it ages the wood really comes out.
Dry: I think I can get a vague hint of the pepper, but it's mostly the wood. There might be other notes there, but it's making my nose stuff up so I can't really smell anythig other than the wood. (A little bit later) Yeah, the pepper, but without the bite of pepper, so it's a bit unusual.
Notes: The cat was eating and really didn't want to smell anything at the time. Not too bad - does nothing for me, but doesn't do anything against me either. Stops my nose up, but I don't think I'd get a bottle even if it didn't, because it just sits on me and doesn't blend in and smell like me. (Ten minutes later...) Aha! Here comes the musk! Nope. *wash off*
ETA: Took soap-and-water, then alcohol, then dishwashing soap (because I used the last of my normal soap) to get off. Eesh.
ETA: Just won 2 eBay auctions, for Bordello and Hellcat. Wheeeeeee!
