It was a rare few weeks I didn't see a sad little heap of feathers on the road! The owners presumably kept buying more (or the hens were laying enough to replace the flock). I don't know why they didn't pen them in somewhere, unless they were trying to breed for smarter guinea fowl. Didn't seem to work, in that case.
