Oh! I almost forgot. I finished listening to Elements of Jazz and enjoyed it quite a bit; the very last lecture ends with a sketch of how jazz players improvise by having actual people improvise, so that was really neat to listen to. I am happy to loan it to you by snail if you should be interested.

My mom had the one on Tchaikovsky, which I listened to long ago. I enjoyed it, and I remember he spends a lot of time on the theory that Tchaikovsky was forced to commit suicide by drinking cholera-laden water (or some such).
