House

Moving another carload of stuff to the new house. It smells faintly of dog. I see why the previous owners had copious scented candles burning every time there was a showing.

Well, it'll soon smell faintly of cat.

I've lived with cats and dogs at various intervals, sometimes together. If the litter box is kept clean, I usually become immune to the smell of cat to where I just don't smell it unless they lay a particularly potent poop, but I have never gotten that way with the smell of dog. Maybe because it renews itself every time you let them outside? There's just something about that musty, earthy smell that clings to your nasal passages.

Congrats on your purchase! I'm moving too, but just to another rental. Can't wait until I'm established enough to settle down for good!

Thanks! The big move is tomorrow - can't wait!

The new house seemed clean at first, then drifts of dog hair started inching their way out of corners, sigh.
