A thought....

...upon watching the premiere of the new Torchwood series (non-spoilery) this weekend:

How much drama in TV series would be completely eviscerated if television doctors and nurses actually followed HIPPA regulations?

I have a really hard time with 90-95% of shows with medical plotlines for just this reason. The only one I could ever watch was House, and that because the show was so far away from medical realism anyway it didn't matter.

My BFF Chris works for the State Board of Medical Examiners. She did not make it through even one episode of House.
