iPhone

The auto-correct on the iPhone is supposed to learn, but especially when you're typing something that you don't forsee typing that often, so it has not much chance to learn, it's annoying. Last night I was taking notes in piano class on it (because I lose notebooks and pieces of paper, but my phone is always nearby), and it changed

     Eflat pentascale

into

     Éclat pentacle

[livejournal.com profile] myrialux tells me that it does eventually learn, but for the longest time he had a problem when typing curses in rage or frustration, because he was ducking everything.

I got an iPad a while ago, and early on I was taking notes on it for a Sherlock Holmes fic I was thinking of writing. It kept correcting "Holmes" to "holes". The other day I used my iPhone to comment on a post about a fan convention, and it repeatedly corrected "concom" to "condom". But best of all was the time I was going to email my boss to say I wouldn't be in at the office that day. My work's convention for that is to write "OOO" in the subject line of the email. My iPhone corrected it to "Poo". I laughed so hard I accidentally hit "send".

I was making notes on my phone of cool things I wanted to post about when I got home, and discovered that the iPhone will autocorrect "Princess Mononoke" into "Princess Mononucleosis."

There's a song called "Too good to be tuba" in my piano book, which became "Too good to be Tina" on the iPhone. (ETA: Admittedly, because I somehow messed up when typing XD)

Oh - I also just realized that when typing "Freebird's," the name of an AWESOME burrito chain here, it corrects it to "Freebies".
