I was about to say: how is music an unusual interest? Ditto anime, reading, and computers. All three make the most popular interests list (http://www.livejournal.com/interests.bml?view=popular). (Read that list and feel better! Some very sad things are very popular.)

By the way, this (http://www.bits.bris.ac.uk/imran/lj/new/pop.php) meme finds the most popular interests on your friendslist and assigns your friends a "normality" rating. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be working right now.
