aaaargggh

So I'm attempting to work on an entry for the Tokyopop Manga Competition, which needs to be between 15-20 pages long. And this stupid thing WILL NOT fit into 20 pages. Anything I cut manages to kill plot or characterization. If I kill plot, the reader is left going "Huh?" and if I kill character, the reader is left going "Why should I care?" I had an impulse to collapse some of it into a conversation between two of teh characters, but I think that turns it into a bunch of talking heads.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
