I'm at the ref desk doing an hour, and we're having Printer Issues because the latest update of whatever has changed the default printer to the color printer instead of the black and white printers, leading lots of students to panic when their papers seem to have mysteriously vanished. (you have to swipe your ID card at the corresponding printer station and tell it to print before it does.) So I get the student worker here at the desk to tell me how to fix that problem.

Naturally, now all the students coming up to me have completely different printer problems. :/

Wonder if a software update is why none of the laptops would print last night?

Might be. If they all developed the problem at once, I'd assume that was the case.

Not that I know anything about printers, much less networked ones. XD
