It seems I've had a recent influx of new readers. *wave* So here's a post for you (if you want to) say hi and mention where or why you found this LJ. Or not.

Yes this is a cunningly-disguised plan to plea for ENTERTAINMENT and EMAIL. Because I need distraction that is work-acceptable.

Maaailll youuuuuu~~

I read your talk of manga appreciation, and joined the hoarde! :O

I have a solicitation! You should read Threads of Time if you haven't. Campiest title ever, I know. But wow. Because manhwa is awesome... probably because Koreans are psychotic...

Someone pointed at your series of manga analyses, and I stayed for the kittyspam. (I am not even going to mention Death Note or the fact that I went out and had a chicken sub with bacon for lunch yesterday...) XD

Re: Call me Pavlov's sheep...

BACON MEME!!!

No kittyspam for a while, alas, since my camera is malfunctioning. I have to find my other two cards and see if it's a problem with the camera or the card. With luck, the card, if not ... well, no kittyspam for a good long while. XD

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-04-26 06:33 pm (UTC)(link)
Woo-hoo!

*puts on list* I've read a few manhwa here and there, and so far most of them have really, really nice linework. I read Visitor the other day and while the story was blah I was fixated on the soft, fluid lines. XD

*penguin announcer-for-commercials voice*

Bored? Sad? The lonesome nights finally getting to you? Join the interview meme~ Meet new people and ask them inappropriate quesitons! You get to do it to whoever you want, with whoever you want. There are no lawsuits....

[identity profile] redsnowpenguin.livejournal.com 2005-04-26 06:38 pm (UTC)(link)
You are going to loooooooooooove Model (if you haven't read already)...Gorgeous linework...spacy, high-contrast layouts...

Most importantly, there's a cute cute boy with a serious papa-complex...and his papa is a vampire who looks younger and prettier than him...

[identity profile] kerbox.livejournal.com 2005-04-26 06:47 pm (UTC)(link)
xD Visitor, eh... *writes down* I'll have to look at it~ :x

Threads of Time not only looks fantastic, but the plot is wonderful. Here's what a TokyoPop editor wrote about it:

"The best thing about Threads of Time is its richly dramatic depiction of Korea's struggle to push back the Mongol Hordes in the 13th century. The plot focuses on a 20th century boy who ends up back in time."

There's the long and short of what it's about, and why it has no fandom. XD

He goes on to say that the science fiction conceit takes a fast retreat to the background to focus on the historical aspects (which is true), but that sci-fi element is actually rather strong. And rather creepy as hell - the reasons this boy has awoken in this time period are still unknown, but extremely suspicious and scary. x_x;

XD The problem is, once people say "Interview me!" I never can think of any questions to ask. :)

So I posted a silly poll instead.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-04-26 06:51 pm (UTC)(link)
No, I ahvne't read it. The artwork sounds great. XD

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-04-26 06:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Yah, Visitor's about a girl with some sort of psychic powers, and there's the usual standard romantic subplot as well, and characters that I couldn't really tell apart because I wasn't paying any attention to them. XD

ToT sounds interesting, though. I like historical stuff. :)

[identity profile] kerbox.livejournal.com 2005-04-26 07:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, at least it's eye candy. :x

And I'll stop soliciting now. XD~ Boredom combatting is important!

[identity profile] elfiepike.livejournal.com 2005-04-26 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
um. hello! i've read your guides to reading manga, and looked at a lot of your pretty pretty art, and yeah. um. that's about it.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-04-26 07:57 pm (UTC)(link)
XD Welcome to the insanity! You shall be spared pictures of my cat for a while because my amera is malfunctioning, but be warned that lots of my posts include picture of my cat nromally. XD

[identity profile] obviouslyanon.livejournal.com 2005-04-26 11:48 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh Darn it, you found me. Here I thought I was so sneaky by sneaking on to your friend list to read the manga thingies without ever posting. But I guess it wasn't sneaky enough. >_<

Distractions are good. I'll post then, since it spares you from being bored at work. It's the least I can do for the pretty manga summaries and random journal posts.

[identity profile] seiyojin.livejournal.com 2005-04-27 12:50 am (UTC)(link)
Where or why I found you? Errr... I can't really remember. I'm pretty sure it involved Z, either you commented on something or were praised and for some reason on that day I bothered to click on a link/ read what was said and behold, I found someone new to talk to (and drool over art work) and stuff :)

So if you want to make it sound 'interesting' in a scary sort of way I guess I tracked you down in a stalker like fashion from someone else I'm all creepy and fangirly over (and now own art from, mwahahahahaa!!) But hey, you friended me back so it's partly your fault for encouraging me... ;)

[identity profile] i-smile.livejournal.com 2005-04-27 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
I've been reading your LJ for some time (Probably followed from the DN community), and finally had the genius thought that I should add you to my friends list already. So there's one fewer lurker reading anonymously from the shadows. :D

[identity profile] elfiepike.livejournal.com 2005-04-27 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
heee. i have no problem with that. :D

[identity profile] kurobahikaru.livejournal.com 2005-04-27 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
I actually found you on fandom_wank (I liked your icons)... And then I noticed you liked stuff I like, and then found out you were on a friend's flist, and then saw you were in the DFW area, and then prompted said friend to ask if you were going to A-kon. (Yes, hi, I'm himekokurai's buddy who made her ask. XD) And I hope to see you there. So. Um. Hi? o.o;;;

how boring, I'm no different from anyone else. I've also been lurking about as a result of the manga analyses, via [livejournal.com profile] coffee_and_ink. And can I just let you know how deeply you have corrupted me? I am utterly infatuated with Blade of the Immortal, thank you very much.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-04-28 02:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Mua-ha-ha-ha! YOU CANNOT ESCAPE ME!!!!!

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-04-28 02:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooooooh! My first stalker! I feel all special now! :D

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-04-28 02:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Heehee. And now you can get all the SEKRIT stuff that's *not* posted publicly! which is mostly the occasional bitch about my job and an art post here and there. Aren't you thrilled and excited?

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-04-28 02:48 pm (UTC)(link)
:D Hi!

I really ought to come up with something to give to people who come up to me at A-Kon and tell me they're from LJ, JF or DA, but that would require foresight, planning, and a lack of apathy, so I probably won't. :)

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-04-28 02:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course you're different! You are a person of DISTINCTION and TASTE as evidenced by your appreciation of the GOODNESS that is Blade of the Immortal. plus, Manji is a badass.

[personal profile] ewein2412 2005-04-28 04:00 pm (UTC)(link)
you said that before. you're not wrong...

[identity profile] seiyojin.livejournal.com 2005-04-28 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, you're a special person now! *hands out paper hats and "Happy Stalker Day" cake* I really should have done that ages ago, but meh, laziness prevents many things ;)

[identity profile] kurobahikaru.livejournal.com 2005-04-29 03:36 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, that makes two of us. I thought about business cards... except I have no business. *shrug* XD Little contact info cards are good. I think they have them in Japan~. XD Not to mention there's software for making cards and fairly cheap pre-cut cardstock available. >.>

Me, I just carry around little blank notepads to draw on and stuff. Perfect for all kinds of things. XD
