The cat is torn between knowing I took her there and coming to me for comfort because she feels odd, so she comes up to me and sits next to me or lets me pet her a lot, then wanders off and hides under the bed for a while.

Yup, tried Temptations. Hates them. The Friskies in that flavor are the only ones I've ever tried that she likes. And she doens't even like them fresh - the bag has to be opened up and sitting around for a few days before they get stale enough. Or something. I don't pretend to understand her thought processes.
