Dream last night: was in a place that was half animal shelter, half pet shop, looking for a large cat.* Couldn't find any; there were only small cats and very large rabbits. I decided the rabbits were obviously because it was getting near Easter. Anyway, found a rabbit that was colored like a Siamese cat, and made the amazing deductive leap that because rabbits and mammals** separated so early in evolutionary history, that there must have been some dinosaurs that featured Siamese-like coloring, including the trait of getting darker with cooler temperatures.*** It was actually sort of a shame to wake up and realize it wasn't true.
* I have always wanted a very large cat. I'd love a Maine Coon or Norwegian Forest Cat mix. It's a thing.
** The dream-self, she is not so hot with the logic, I fear.
*** Which is why the parts of Siamese cats that are dark get that way: they're extremities and are cooler. If a Siamese breaks a leg and has it in a cast for a while, the fur under the cast, where it's warmer, will grow in lighter.

But somehow I doubt I can use them as proof of Siamese dinosaurs.

You beat me to it! We saw some when we were looking to adopt our second bunny, who seems to be part English Spot (the white guy in the icon).

Bunnies are about as good as cats at getting me to speak nonsense.
