MY BRAIN IS BROKEN

So I must pass on to you all how [livejournal.com profile] octopedingenue is TORTURING ME with the mere idea of a Princess Tutu/Blade of the Immortal crossover.

I have not yet watched Princess Tutu but I have read magicnoire's posts and listened to calixa's play-by-play account, and all I can say is:

OH!

MY!

GOD!

*goes to read post*

She doesn't have to say much, and the idea worms its way in and KILLS YOU.

It's very possible that there is no fandom that _Princess Tutu_ wouldn't cross over with.

I did that icon-pairing meme and found Drosselmeyer/Delirium, for instance, which was the most sensible thing on it.

But then, I'm on a bit of a meta kick and am now imagining Duck dancing with Harold Crick.

No need for details. Just the idea of Ahiru in the same room as a guy whose limbs regularly gets chopped off is quite a special vision to boggle the mind.

Darn straight. You could even cross Princess Tutu and RPF, though the world would explode afterward.

Tutu/Sandman=brain.happy.place. Does it count as being conceived in the Dreaming if you're the progeny of a dead deus ex machina and a living cultural archetype*?

*acceptable happybrain alternative to Delirium in order of preference: Scheherazade; Mother Goose; Seven Characters In Search Of An Author And Apparently An Orgy; etc.

She's ... just posted a snippet of fic.

AAAAAAGGGGGHTGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[identity profile] janni.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
And now I'm picturing Tutu/original Star Wars fic.

Which would be totally whack, and if someone actually pulled it off, would also make me really, really irrationally happy.

I feel I'm missing out by having not seen Blade of the Immortal.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2007-11-20 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
It's an awesome, awesome manga with most excellent art (http://meganbmoore.livejournal.com/376336.html) set in 17th/18th century Japan. I'll point you towards [livejournal.com profile] chomiji's BotI posts (http://chomiji.livejournal.com/tag/blade+of+the+immortal) - you can click the cut tags and read the spoilers if you want or not. :)

It's my #1 favorite manga.

"Pay no attention to my boorish colleague, Miss Edel. I'm afraid our little excursions into some of the rougher planets have given R2D2 the refined vocabulary of a Vislarkian guttermutt."

"There is no need for apologies. Words alone are only sounds; it falls to a raven to assemble them into a writing desk."

"Of course. Yes. So good to be back in intelligible company again."

See? This makes me very happy. :-)
