Of course, being 8, I didn't know what it was at first and proceeded to just wash my hands over and over with cold water "since they were bleeding." Oops.
XD Owch. My knuckles started cracking and bleeding during winter when I moved to Denver, with its dry climate. They don't do it as much now that I'm back in Texas, but occasionally do so.
